Surprisingly smart lens for simply over a $100

I own each Canon gear (Canon 40D) and Nikon gear (D40). Since Nikon is my cheaper lighter gear, i'm to not invest lots of $$ into it. whereas D40 is lightweight and low cost, it's a wonderful camera that i take advantage of all the time for several reasons. I required a tele lens to go with my kit 18-55 lens (which is superb} in itself and gets great reviews). i used to be between Tamron 70-300 and Sigma 70-300 APO since Nikon's 70-300 is four times costlier than Tamron and Sigma. when reading a lot of reviews and fidgeting with each Tamron and Sigma, I selected Tamron and that i am terribly happy I did. There are many versions of Tamron's 70-300, but this one is that the latest, 2008 version, that autofocuses on D40, 40X and 60. This lens is exceptional for the quantity it's sold for. I've taken several nice photos with it on vacation and around city. it's conjointly terribly compact and light-weight. whereas it's not a perfect lens to shoot Birds in Flight (neither is D40 with its a pair of.5 fps) because of its slow autofocusing mechanism, it's nice for general photos and portraits. As you'll be able to see from samples I even took some bee shots with it. I took a star owing to slow autofocusing, but hey, you're paying $130 for it, realize it. i like to recommend this lens over Sigma for budget shooters who wish three hundred tele, however don't need to pay $450 Nikon needs for its version. i'm proud of it
